Steve has been in the development and construction industry for over 20 years. After earning his MBA from Kellogg School of Management, Steve joined the U.S. Assets Group team to manage real estate sales and marketing at The Founders Club and to help manage existing and future projects for the firm. Steve helped conceive Heritage Builders and currently manages the day-to-day operations of the company and the community development operations at U.S. Assets Group. His hands on management approach and involvement with all phases of the home construction process has helped cement Heritage Builders' reputation as one of the most innovative and reputable home builders in Southwest Florida.
Tom Brown Principal
Tom founded U.S. Assets Group over 30 years ago and continues its tradition of excellence today with Heritage Builders. Prior to founding U.S. Assets Group, Tom earned a sterling track record with esteemed multi-national development companies. This success was continued as U.S. Assets Group went on to develop such noteworthy communities as Windsor (Vero Beach, Florida), Orchid Island (Vero Beach, Florida), en Provence (Longboat Key, Florida), Beau Ciel (Sarasota, Florida), Orchid Beach Club (Sarasota, Florida) and The Founders Club (Sarasota, Florida). In 2012, Tom joined partner Steve Brown in forming Heritage Builders to conceive and deliver high quality luxury homes at attainable prices.

Andrew Kelly Architect
Andrew is an accomplished principal architect, receiving his Masters of Architecture from The University of Michigan, Ann Arbor’s Taubman School. The creative demands, challenge and rigor of the discipline led Andy to work across the country in locations such as Vail, Colorado, the San Francisco Bay Area, California and Naples, Florida. Upon arrival in Sarasota in 2019, it was simply the perfect fit. Andy is a highly skilled architect and Heritage Builders is pleased to exclusively offer his designs.
Kelsey George Interior Designer & Client Concierge
Kelsey is a skilled interior design professional who guides Heritage Builders’ customers through our design and selection process. Proficient in drafting, 3D rendering and curating creative design concepts, she assists homeowners in visualizing their home to ensure every detail is considered and perfected. She works closely with clients to ensure communication is top priority throughout their build process. Kelsey graduated from Alfred State University and brings years of structural and interior design experience to the Heritage Builders team.

Becky has been an integral part of the Heritage Builders and U.S. Assets Group teams for nearly 15 years. She has a diverse skill set in financial management in real estate development and new home construction. Becky is intimately involved in all management aspects of land development, new home construction and homeowners association management.

Ed has been a leader in Heritage Builders organization since its inception, and plays an instrumental role in every home Heritage Builders delivers. Ed has dedicated himself for over 15 years in both field supervision and estimating roles with some of Florida's finest custom home builders. Ed is a Florida licensed general contractor.

With over 30 years experience in the custom home building industry, Derek has been working in luxury construction for the entirety of his illustrious career. Graduating in construction management, Derek has held superintendent and principal project manager roles since 1996. His unique experience and expertise in homes 20,000 sq ft+ allows him great insight and understanding of our custom projects.

The Heritage Builders team of seasoned custom construction professionals help guide you through the numerous steps of the new home construction process. Our construction team meets with you at your new home build orientation, where we review your plans and discuss what to expect during the construction period. Our superintendents and construction managers are always available to walk your site, discuss changes to your plans and provide regular construction updates all the way through our new home orientation meeting.

At each step of the construction process, Heritage Builders takes service seriously. Clients are assigned a Client Concierge from the point of sale through the completion of their home, and beyond. This individual is focused on providing the highest level of customer service throughout the building experience. From helping assess customer housing needs, to guiding the creative architecture and interior design processes, to providing updates during the quiet time of engineering and permitting, your concierge will keep you informed and updated.
